Korean triangle kimbap made with Myeongga Kim seaweed

Triangle kimbap, known as samgak kimbap in Korea, is a compact rice snack shaped like a triangle and wrapped in seaweed. It is widely enjoyed as a quick breakfast, light lunch, picnic food, or convenient snack.

With Myeongga Kim Triangle Kimbap Seaweed, you can prepare Korean-style triangle kimbap at home using cooked rice and your favorite filling.

The unseasoned seaweed allows the flavors of the rice and filling to stand out, making it suitable for many different recipes.

What Is Samgak Kimbap?

The Korean word samgak means triangle, while kimbap refers to rice served with seaweed.

Unlike traditional rolled kimbap, samgak kimbap is formed into a small triangle. A flavorful filling is placed inside the rice, and the finished triangle is wrapped with seaweed.

It is simple to carry, easy to eat, and endlessly customizable.

More Filling Ideas

Kimchi and Tuna

Chop kimchi into small pieces and stir-fry it briefly. Mix it with drained tuna for a spicy and savory filling.

Bulgogi

Use finely chopped Korean-style marinated beef. Remove excess liquid before adding it to the rice.

Spicy Chicken

Mix cooked chicken with gochujang, sesame oil, and a small amount of soy sauce.

Egg and Vegetables

Combine scrambled egg with finely chopped carrots, spinach, mushrooms, or green onions.

Cheese and Kimchi

Add cheese to stir-fried kimchi for a rich and comforting flavor.

Tips for Making Better Triangle Kimbap

  • Use short-grain rice because it holds its shape better than long-grain rice.
  • Let the rice cool slightly before shaping. Very hot rice can soften the seaweed too quickly.
  • Avoid fillings with too much moisture.
  • Do not press the rice too firmly.
  • Keep the seaweed dry and wrap the rice shortly before serving.

A Convenient Korean Meal for Any Occasion

Triangle kimbap is easy to prepare for busy mornings, packed lunches, picnics, road trips, parties, and Korean-themed events.

You can prepare several fillings in advance and allow family members or guests to create their own combinations.

From classic tuna mayo to spicy kimchi and bulgogi, Myeongga Kim Triangle Kimbap Seaweed makes it easy to enjoy one of Korea’s most familiar everyday foods at home.
